Cult of the First Fire Vol 1 - Beneath the Shivering Mountain was created for the Knave 2e Adventure Jam. It is an explosive adventure featuring a fire cult and a very angry mountain, perfect for a one-shot for low-level characters.

The Shivering Mountain has always trembled on occasion. Usually, the residents of nearby Greenwood take this as a sign that the spirit who resides within is angry, and leave offerings of livestock on the mountainside to appease it. Ever since those strange, red-clad wayfarers passed through town, the shivers have grown in frequency and intensity. And worse yet, they ransacked The Ugly Mug's cellar and took a year's worth of headcheese. Then, just three days past, a mighty crash echoed through the valley, and someone swore they saw smoke rising from the the mountain. Now there is a near-constant rumble.

A local priestess, Mirian the Bold, led a troop of subtly-armed villagers towards the mountain, but only one of her company returned, Old Hiles. He said that they found a yawning gate in the side of the mountain, like the mouth of some doom-heralding creature, its iron doors bent and twisted inward upon their hinges. Hiles stood guard outside while the others entered. When he heard their screams, he fled.

The villagers have amassed their coin and heirlooms to pay and have agreed to relinquish the spoils of the shrine for the safe return of Mirian and her party.
